From more and more reality shows using UAV aerial photography to Amazon's first UAV delivery package, to the recent announcement by Xinhua News Agency of the formation of UAV news gathering team... With the development of electronic technology, the pattern and usage of civil UAV emerge in endlessly.
RFID, once a military technology, has gained new life after being converted to civilian use, and has blossomed in many fields such as logistics, clothing, retail and so on. Seemingly unrelated to the two popular technologies, and now come together, UAV with RFID technology will wipe out what kind of spark, what kind of surprise?
In 2013, a red Eagle 3A UAV weighing 15 kg, with a wingspan of 2.6 meters and a captain of 2.1 meters successfully flew in Dayi County, Chengdu on July 12. This is the first long-distance search technology in China that combines UAV technology with personnel location search and rescue by means of RFID radio frequency technology. According to Wang Xuben, the person in charge of the project, only need to carry the beacon beforehand and turn on the device in case of unexpected situation. The search and rescue personnel can quickly locate and improve the search and rescue efficiency through low-frequency search, which has changed the traditional carpet-style search mode of field search and rescue after the disappearance of the personnel.
In addition to personnel search and rescue, Fraunhofer, a German company, is developing a new inventory management system that combines RFID technology with UAVs flying in warehouses for inventory checking. In addition, WAVE Company of Japan Electrical Appliances has introduced a RFID reader "RFID VOCSS Canner UR30" which can read the RFID tags as far as 2.5m. The company equipped the product with an unmanned aerial vehicle, which can read RFID tags from the air outdoors.
Under such a fierce wave of UAV applications, Trimble recently launched a new generation of dual-port RFID reader, Sargas, as a leading global manufacturer with decades of in-depth research in the development and practical application of GPS technology, which can be perfectly embedded in UAV. Sargas reader is a high performance UHF reader with networking function, dual antenna ports and compact shape. The tag reading distance is over 9 meters (equipped with appropriate antenna), and it has the processing capability of over 750 tags per second.
At the same time, Sargas pioneered the integration of HDMI interfaces. The built-in HDMI interface allows users to display processed data directly on the external display without requiring additional external hardware devices. This design will greatly save the cost of deploying RFID and shorten the time of system on-line.
